This was the best scene of the whole BOOK! Everyone accused in the Sleepy Lagoon murder trial was set free. Each one of the boys had a whole new chance at life. It often seemed real dark and bleak for the boys at the start of the fight, then they lost their main attorney. Yet in the end everything paid off and the boys were back in the Barrio.

This was the greatest battle fought and won in the whole book... Lupe is happy because even she knows how they were all being discriminated against...This shows the joy that everyone was experiencing and also the disbelief.
